Here’s a rundown of the four races today at Santa Anita:

- Race 7 at 6:05 p.m. – $1 Million Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (GI)
- Race 8 at 6:50 p.m. – $1 Million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (GI)
- Race 9 at 7:35 p.m. – $2 Million Breeders’ Cup Distaff (GI)
(All times Eastern)
First, here are selections from my buddy Cory Hodskins:
BC Juvenile Turf- The impeccably well bred colt Imperia is my pick. I loved the way that JJ asked him to get involved early in the Pilgrim to give himself a chance to win the race. Then went he cut him loose he should a devastating turn of foot to run down a colt who was loose on the lead.
BC Dirt Mile– Goldencents had a tough post last year versus a similar but blew them away. This year he has had a very similar campaign and gets a much better post. He will be very tough to beat.
BC Juvenile Filly Turf– This is the most wide open race of the day. I believe almost every filly in the race can win. I look at Europeans first in all of these turf races I believe Osaila (IRE) is the best of the Europeans and will get the best trip and she is my pick to win.
BC Distaff– Close Hatches has been the best dirt mare all year. I am willing to forgive her last race and take her on top in this year’s Distaff. Rosario should have her on or near the lead throughout and when they turn for home he is always difficult to pass.
And here are my top 3 selections in each race:
- Commemorative
- Imperia
- Hootenanny
Dirt Mile:
- Goldencents
- Fed Biz
- Pants On Fire
Juvenile Fillies Turf:
- Conquest Harlante
- Osaila
- Rainha Da Bateria
Distaff:
- Untapable
- Close Hatches
- Iotapa
Good luck to all.
