“I graduated in 2012 and [Kentucky] looks a lot different now, and it’s hard to think that athletics didn’t play some role in that,” said John Cox, director of public affairs for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. “New dorms, new research buildings and all kinds of new facilities over there.”

John F. Cox has becoming here since he was 2 years old from his native Lexington, Ky. for the Whitney Handicap and Fasig-Tipton yearling sales. When he was 8, his grandmother woke him up at 5:30 a.m. to see his favorite horse, the great Cigar, work out.
After missing last year, Cox, a public affairs manager for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, wrote a poem after his most recent pilgrimage. He called it, simply, “Saratoga.”

Cox joined the Kentucky Chamber in December of 2019 as manager of Public Affairs. He heads up the Kentucky Chamber’s Healthcare, Infrastructure, and Agriculture/Equine Policy Councils. With the new title, Cox will take on a larger role in the organization’s advocacy efforts and other areas.
